This bit was designed for practice and slow work. The chain mouthpiece prevents a horse from bracing on the bit but allows control. The Extended Gag Feature offers bend and flexion of the poll. If you ride with a combination bit, this is a good alternative to practice in. By doing this, it helps maintain the effectiveness of your combination bit. This bit comes with a chain curb but can be used with a nylon string curb as an option. With a string curb you will have more bend but less whoa.
